O’Toole’s is now hiring seasonal General Associates!
Want to spend your spring and summer surrounded by flowers while pretending you have your life together?
Love plants but seem to kill every houseplant you touch and want to make your thumb greener?
Need a job where “watering things” actually counts as productivity?
Well, you’re in luck! O’Toole’s Garden Centers is on the hunt for Seasonal General Associates to join our team of plant whisperers (or at least enthusiastic plant fans) for the 2025 season. You’ll help customers, move plants, ring up sales, and probably get some dirt under your nails, it’s all part of the fun!
Where? Lakewood & Westminster, Colorado
When? April 1, 2025 – June 30, 2025
How much? A very non-foolish $17.00 per hour! (That's right, we pay better than your average garden-variety gig.)
What You’ll Be Doing (Besides Enjoying the Smell of Fresh Soil)
Cashier Duties:
- Provide top-notch customer service with a smile (or at least a polite nod).
- Ring up sales, process returns and make gift cards appear like magic.
- Answer phones and pretend you totally know where everything is (don’t worry, we’ll train you).
Sales Duties:
- Know what’s on sale and help customers find the perfect plant that probably won’t die in a week.
- Answer customer questions like a pro—whether it’s about flowers or how to keep a succulent alive.
- Restock shelves, tidy up, and make the garden center look stunning.
- Water plants like they’re your own (without getting emotionally attached).
Receiving Duties:
- Unload shipments of trees, shrubs, and other garden goodies.
- Move heavy stuff from Point A to Point B like a garden center superhero.
- Check inventory and make sure we actually got what we ordered.
Must-haves:
- Able to lift 50 lbs (that’s like carrying two full watering cans).
- Team player with a can-do attitude.
- Basic computer, phone, and math skills (we won’t make you solve calculus problems, promise).
- At least 16 years old (sorry, toddlers, this gig isn’t for you).
- Willingness to learn and take direction (yes, we do need you to water all the plants).
Nice-to-haves (but not deal-breakers):
- Retail or cashier experience (even if it’s just counting your tips from a lemonade stand).
- Previous plant knowledge (but if you think a fern is a type of dog, we can teach you).
- Warehouse or receiving experience (AKA, you’ve lifted heavy stuff before).
